The power of people
Social media is increasingly becoming a buzzword applied to anything and everything. What it really means is getting people involved with your online content; connecting with your audience through blogs, building social networks similar to Facebook, micro-update services like Twitter, Dopplr and so on. It also encompasses using sites driven by people to popularise your brand and publications, such as getting on to the Digg front page.
The potential of social networks and “Web 2.0″ is extremely high when applied to businesses, and it can help you connect with your existing customers as well as reaching out to new ones in a targeted, personal fashion that gets results. You don’t have to stand alone any more, isolated from your customers and peers. However, it’s also a confusing world full of acronyms and buzzwords, which is where having an experienced hand to guide you can come in very useful.
What can I get help with?
Everything, from starting a brand new blog to an online brand health check!
I don’t understand social media and I don’t have a blog or anything.
No problem! We can look at your company needs and your existing online presence (if you have one) and work together to set up a weblog. We’ll assess existing social networks and set up a presence where relevant, from Facebook to Second Life (yes, you can have a 3D virtual shopfront!). We can also publicise your new accessible online self using viral and social means, and you’ll become an expert in how to keep all the snazzy social features up-to-date.
I have a blog but I think it needs a bit of work.
Then we’ll work on it. From layout and backend fixes to advice on copywriting, style, content and standards, we can give your blog a MoT and then move on to look at how you can publicise it. We can also work together to investigate other social networks and how you can build a community around your blog and website, plus determine ways to keep the content rolling even when there isn’t much to see on the surface.
I’m not sure how people react to my brand online.
Soon, there will be a product that tells you exactly this… But until then, we can look at ways you can investigate reactions to your brand online, popular sites to monitor and daily alerts you can set up, and steps you can take to change what people think.
