Thanks for the plug - and I agree with your suggestions of meetups as a good place to go and look for programmers.

It always makes me chuckle when I go to business/technical events (90% non-technical) like minibar and see people looking for programmers. There would be a much, much greater hit rate at places like Flug which are 99% technical.

It requires greater tolerance of technical presentations (but, hey, you might learn something... dependency injection is pretty interesting) and careful observance of etiquette (these are not networking events as such) but as long as you are doing something interesting people will talk to you about it.</description>
